The agreement on a common, open standard for publishing aid information means that stakeholders in developing countries will be able to track how aid money is spent, and then hold donors accountable. Common standard agreed for publishing aid information

Good news from Paris yesterday, as the Working Party on Aid Effectiveness (WPEFF) endorsed a common, open standard for publishing aid information. The standard incorporates both the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) and the Development Assistance Committee’s Creditor Reporting System (DAC CRS).

This is a big step forwards for stakeholders in developing countries, who will now be able to access the information they need on aid and development.

While there is still work to be done in outlining the details of how it will operate, this agreement is momentous. Donors who have endorsed the Busan Partnership now need to start working to show how they intend to implement these commitments.

We’ll update you on further progress as it happens, keep an eye out for it here.
